Carnatic

Carnatic music is a system of music associated with the southern part of India and the style is followed largely in four south Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala & Tamil Nadu. Caranatic classical music is mostly vocal unlike Hindustani classical music. There are 72 basic scales on the octave and cosntitute a rich variety of melodic motion. The basic form of a song is monophonic in variation.

Hindustani

In 20th century, after 1947 a big revolution in north Indian music happened. The main credit goes to many musicians including two musicians & scholars: V. N. Bhartkhande & V.D. Paluskar. V. D. Paluskar for the first time introduced the music colleges while V. N. Bhatkhande transformed music to an organized medium, which is visible in current performance of arts.Earlier, Hindustani vocal music was not available to everyone and was confined to high society people like the ruling, administrative and business class only but because of both scholar's, today it easily available to the common man.

Carnatic Music Lessons Online

The origin of Carnatic music dates back to around the 15th and 16th century AD. Carnatic music (original name is Karnataka music) is a system of music associated with the southern part of India and the style is followed largely in four south Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala & Tamil Nadu. Carnatic classical music is mostly  vocal unlike Hindustani classical music. There are 72 basic scales on the octave and constitute a rich variety of melodic motion.
